Ethiopia Harrar Fair Trade-Organic

coffee from the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union.
Founded in 1999, the OCFCU is the largest Fair Trade coffee producer in
Ethiopia, having over 23,000 members The coffee was grown in the
southwestern rainforest of the country at over 5000 feet. The coop
dry processes the Harrar coffee cherries (natural method) and then dries the green coffee it in the sun.
Oromia's coffee is heirloom, forest-grown, and small farmer produced.
Ethiopia is
the origin of Arabica and has over 3,000 indigenous
varieties. Herbicides, insecticides and chemical
fertilizers are not used. Harvest is done by hand
and organic compost is used to increase the soil's
fertility.
Cup Characteristics: A bright and fruity coffee
with a deep, spicy flavor. It has medium/heavy body, sweet aroma and
chocolate finish. This is a wonderful coffee with taste
aspects of authentic Mocha but with a softer finish.
